Greetings all:

I recently wove a project with crochet cotton - sorry, I don't know the size
- and also had trouble keeping the shed organized. Since I was weaving two 5
foot-long bands, starting over wasn't in the cards (so to speak). I wanted
to avoid sliding the tablets back and forth, so I ended up spreading the
cards slightly at the top, and riffling through them like a deck of cards,
then repeating with the bottoms in the same fashion. That helped a bit;
unweaving up to 6 inches or more of the band (several times...) taught me to
be more careful; and just being aware of the shed also helped. Doing a
massive amount of weaving at warp speed (sorry, that was supposed to be a
Star Trek reference) made me very careful very quickly. Unweaving also
became easier with practice, and keeping the shed straight became easier
with intense concentration and LOTS of practice. (Memo to self: do NOT leave
large projects until the last minute; especially when there are three of
them.)

Upon noting who one of the previous respondents was: having watched a Di
demonstrate brocade tablet weaving in February, I'm still tempted to pull
out Nancy Spies's Anna Neuper Modelbook. (sp?)

Cheers and good luck!
