Dr Phukan is clearly making a lot of noise on his own behalf. I do not believe he speaks for most Assamese. In fact, here is what I believe: The Assamese are already using Unicode and printing newspapers and magazines and books and posters and all sorts of things and are not worried about this cosmetic issue.
