in the news it's quite common to read about people working in non-profit organizations who resign their positions and go on to do 'x y or z'.

it's even quite common, in the news, for the resigner's employer/boss to say a few words about the person resigning.

and when you DON'T read about these details, in the news, when there's a resignation, that, too, is news.
