These are probably dumb questions but I am just starting to delve into
the world of Linux...

I am building a Mini-ITX system which I intend to install Ubuntu Server
on and run headless as my home file system. I will then install
SqueezeCenter and run my SB3 from this as well as my wireless laptop
(Windoze) - running Softsqueeze.

A couple of questions;

1. I have bought a 2.5" 160GB HDD. This was intended to have the OS and
be my file store in one - is this a bad idea? If so can I partition the
drive? What are the prime reasons for two separate drives, one for the
OS and one for the data store?

2. It seems to me most people here agree that ext3 is the best option
for the data store, what about the OS drive? Do that have to be ext3 to
run Ubuntu?

3. If I want to access the file server from my Windoze laptop I presume
I will be using Samba - does it matter what format the file store HDD
is? I.e. will my Windoze laptop read/write to an ext3 formatted drive
ok through Samba?

Thanks in advance!
