Wow, that's pretty consistent advice -- everyone seems to suggest trying a wired connection on the LMS device, even though the onboard wifi works fine when only one of the two players are connected. I can't imagine a mechanism for that, but when a roomful of people (with experience ranging from "more than me" to "wrote the software") tell me to try something, of course I'll try it. I'll report back in a few days with the results. (I installed these players for my in-laws, so I'll arrange a visit.) Incidentally, to answer earlier questions, the LMS device is in the same room as the wifi router, only a few feet away. So is one of the two players. The other player is a couple of rooms away, and if that were the only player having problems, I'd be suspicious of the wifi signal quality also -- but both players are having problems. No evidence of DHCP conflicts -- again, everything works fine with either player alone, and the wifi router isn't so broken as to hand out DHCPOFFERs of the same IP to different MAC addresses. Since I'm debugging a system at someone else's place, I'd love to have a bunch of things to try when I go there. If wired networking on the LMS device doesn't help, any other ideas for what to try, where to look in the logs, etc.? But for my first debugging effort, I'll try a wired connection on the LMS device and report what happens. Thanks for the advice, everyone. -Jon ------------------------------------------------------------------------ otherjon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66043 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105997 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
