>> Does adding one unpaired DIMM disable interleaving for all of them?

No. Just make sure you don't 'accidentally' pair the new DIMM with
another of equal size but different manufacture. That is the cause of
the majority of interleaving issues.

>> Does anyone have interleaved RAM working?

Yes. My first 16MB are interleaved. Right now that's 20%, but a few
years ago, I used to run with 32MB and 100% of it interleaving, before
one of my 8MBs died on me.

>> Does it work with OS X, which is
>> notoriously fussy about RAM?

I was told directly not to do it by a Sonnet technician when an
accelerator card of any kind is involved (regardless of OS), but that
is a ridiculously general statement -- so I went ahead and so far so
good. No networking delays for me like the other dude mentioned. I
position the interleaved chips in the FIRST two slots (A1 and B1), not
the last slots the way some do -- but I have no idea whether this
relates to compability.

>> If someone does have it working and finds it stable with OS X, is it
>> noticeably faster?

No. And I don't remember it *ever* being noticeably faster, with
everyday apps at least, on any OS, from 7.5 to 10.2 -- you are always
left wondering if you might be just imagining a slight improvement
because you want it to happen, and that might please some people, but
personally that's not what I call noticeable. There would have to be no
doubt in my mind for me to call it that. However, I wouldn't say that I
absolutely couldn't see a difference, either. But with only 20%
interleaved there is not even a hint of a difference. In fact the only
reason that some of my RAM is still interleaved is that I have a
superstitious belief (and please don't anyone take it as a fact) that
it reduces the rampant transmission errors I have had for years in my
PCI bus. That, and whenever I have a serious problem, one of the first
things I always do is de-interleave the RAM, and this never makes a
damn bit of difference, so I just let it leave it alone.

Paul.
