didn't know they would work at all. good news then. i must've been thinking of 4 or 5, which i have heard many times do not work.
i think the 3 support is sporadic though and can't be counted to work on every machine. so caveat emptor to the guy trying it, but sounds worth a shot. no 3d accelleration though. When I first built my unsupported OS X machine, the first non-stock video card I put in it was a Voodoo 3 (flashed for a Mac), and it worked, even in Jaguar. Now, I don't think OS X "knew" it was a Voodoo card, and thus loaded Voodoo-specific drivers- it probably just seen it as a generic video card, but I do know that it worked, and it seen and used it's extra memory as well. I used it for a month or so, until I got my Radeon 7000. I know that you get no graphics acceleration whatsoever with a Voodoo card in OS X, and while the Voodoo 3 definitely worked better than the stock card that was in the system when I very first installed, when I switched to the Radeon, it was a HUGE improvement.
