Anyway, You should disable the Mobo cache. It actually lowers the performance of the computer since it uses such slow memory. It also can cause OS X to fail to boot.

Thanks for the tip. I had been messing around with Mobo cache settings resently so I'll try that and see what happens.

I've not seen a slow down in day to day usauge (at least under 9.1) and *according* to the PowerLogix control panel it "relegates" mobo cache to level 3 anyway. When I get the chance I'll do some proper benchmarking and see what if any effect it has.
