Thanks Peter for your suggestions. I will try the key booting you described. I was wondering if it could have anything to do with my g3 upgrade? I have found out that my processor is a MACh Carrier XLR8 card. Was I supposd to do something to prepare it for the move to 10? I thought that XPF was going to do whatever was needed to prepare it but perhaps I was supposed to do something?
I'm using an XLR8 MACh Carrier card with a 400 MHz G3 ZIF swiped from a B&W G3 and I did nothing in order to get it working with XPF or OS X (the L2 cache needs software of course, but it doesn't *prevent* anything from working). It worked in my 7500 just fine so I doubt it's the card. It also worked with an XLR8 G3/466 ZIF and NewerTech 500 MHz G3 ZIF. I defer to others about your other problems as I haven't had any problems to troubleshoot on the 7500 (yet!).
