Thanks for staying with me!

I've done the reinstallation of the HD giving the
system partition 7.5gigs. I also raised the throatle
of XPF to 24. Put in the 10.2CD and it opens showing
all the files, the install logo etc (Would this not
mean that the CD-rom is working and reading the CD?).
Ran XPF, the gray Apple logo appears, then same coding
that ran the first time (see earlier email "XPF
HELP!") appears on a black screen again followed by
the "multimedia failed", then the "waiting for root
device". Since I've made all the changes suggested,
perhaps I should focus on the CD-rom; is there a way
to do a diagnostic of the CD-rom? Its a Yamaha, driver
version 5.0.2. It was mentioned that it was possible
that 10 is picky about CD-roms and compatibility
issues? Any other helpful suggestions out there???
