Powermac 7500 + Crescendo G3/400/2M

I "test drove" Panther on an external 18G hard drive, but performance was
terrible. I assumed there was a cache problem, but when I tried to use the
Sonnet X tune up to enable the cache my testbed was rendered unbootable.

Any sugggestions?

Sonnet has released a 1.2.8 version of their Tune-up with Panther compatibility. I read about it in OWC's XPF forums <http://anybox.owc.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1098> and you have to contact Sonnet support directory <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and ask for it. Also, if you are using XPF to install, you have to re-apply the XPF extensions after running Sonnet's Tune-up. This applies updated versions of various .kext files, but leaves the Sonnet .kext that enables the caches. FWIW, I am using Powerlogix's CPU Directory with my Sonnet G4/800 and Panther 10.3.3 without any issues.
