My new system crashed during the installation of the 10.2.8 upgrade. Most of CoreServices was reduced to zero-length files. I was pissed.
But I didn't get mad, no, I booted to single user, found the 10.2.8 package, and did these elementary commands... sh# fsck -y sh# mount -uw / sh# cd /tmp/com.Apple.*/MacOS*/Contents sh# gunzip < Archive.pax.gz | (cd / ; pax -r) sh# reboot And bobs your uncle, all was well!
