Well,  that's what the chip says on the card: ALI M5271.  This is the COMPUSA branded 
card, SKU 306475.  The other card that I tried to use, which also says OS X compatible 
is labeled the same way.

Do you think your hardware is permanently messed up or it's just a matter of 
reinstalling?  Oh, I just read you're earlier post. You think it messed up your whole 
computer?  Man does that not sound good.  I hope that has not happened here.

For those who suggest to format and reinstall, do you think I can do that just to the 
partition? Or do I need to do it to the whole drive? If so, that puts me in a tight 
spot of not having enough storage room to transfer the data, so I'll need to get 
another drive. 

I've asked this before but I'll try again: Can I install Panther in the partition that 
has more room which houses OS 9 and my documents without having to wipe out the data?

Tried the reset-all but no luck. Will read some Apple documentation.
