Quite. I expect there won't be much agressive optimisation for Altivec
and things like that any more, just like I bet that the
Altivec-accelerated bits of OS X don't currently use SSE3 on x86 - you
don't spend time and money on performance tweaking for stuff that's
not making you money. However, I bet there'll be an OS X 10.5 and
probably 10.6 for PPC - probably until the end of the decade or so.

Good question. I'm guessing they will be as long as it requires little
extra effort, and once people start developing stuff that uses and
depends on x86 features, like SSE3 or whatever, then PPC support will
start to fall away...
