I agree to Bruce that Apple will probably loose much of its momentum.
What makes me wondering most about this decision is its time-frame:
The first Intel-Macs are not going to be shipped before mid-2006,
still more than a year ahead! This will lead to a lot of confusion
and uncertainty until the first benchmarks and user experiences are
available (probably in half a year?).
I can see the point why developers should get lots of time to adapt
their software, but why is this necessary when standard mac software
is supposed to run on Intel-Macs seemlessly?
