I wonder if all of this started becuase now IBM will be sell in PPC
processors to Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo for the next gen consoles.. they don't
need to cater to Apple anymore because there processor supply business just
grew many times more than that of what apple was buying..

Hmm.. this could turn into a whole conspiracy theory thing.. Can you say
"Pirates of Silicon Valley II"??

It is a well known fact that Microsoft bought a skid load of G5's to
develope the Xbox 360 Platform just about to be released..

I wonder how long it will take the usual groups to get OSX running on the
new xbox.. and then who need a Mac Mini!

Exactly my point. There is no roadmap for desktop PPC chips - no one is
interested in the small volume of business

Intel's are absolutely better, because Personal Computer CPUs is what they
do - it's not a money-losing sideline like it is with IBM.

Agreed on Apple's strength, but this is not a mistake. It's a necessity.
Plus, they can use Intel's complete chipsets, and not have to design their
own.

The biggest winner will be Apple's laptops, which will get the Pentium M and

centrino chipset, with all the speed and power savings that brings to the
table, from OFF THE SHELF parts. Apple can finally get out of the CPU and

chipset design business and concentrate on what they do best - software.
