Kill switch failure point for built apps - Meet the LiveCode EULA

LiveCode recently requested my feedback to help improve LC.
Glad to help. One big concern -

Kill switch for built apps.

Meet the LiveCode Create EULA -
https://livecode.com/eula

an evaluation said "you should NOT accept this as-is" -
I agree; impossible until several issues improved.

the EULA keeps mentioning access to built apps.

"3.3 ... Violation of this clause may result in the suspension
of access to the LiveCode platform and your Created Software."

"8.2 ... LiveCode Ltd reserves the right to withdraw the granted
licensing and remove access to any apps built using LiveCode Create"

kill built apps! This is nuclear -

not just dev tool versions paid for.
not even data hosting, but as it is worded -

access to built apps.

this is morally wrong to begin with, and -
No Cure period defined.
No Proportionality or Protection for end users or customers.

Can:

- Break production systems
- Strand customer apps and end users
- Trigger contractual breaches for you/customers
- disrupt your development/business

High Risk for production or customer-facing use; also ...

Existence of kill switch is a threat and extra failure point
for all apps; hostage to whim, outage, renewal, or glitch.

from bad weather to banking, health or human/software error.

whether for business or not, a similar issue -
a kill switch lurking = fragile apps.

want fragile apps, an extra failure point?
for yourself, end users, customers, clients?
patients, charity, people who need help?

I will not accept that situation.
Nor let future projects get locked down to 1 tool.
Nor be slandered as unruly for pointing out obvious problems.

LC data hosting of course is another matter/choice.

LiveCode - kill any kill switch for built apps.

that would increase your market.
hope this requested advice will help improve LC.

Happy Holy-days of Christ's Mass!

Best wishes,

Curry Kenworthy
