If you are new with Linux, it'll be wise to wait one or two months until the glitches that have slipped the Beta phase are resolved.
There are going to be a couple of problems for sure. It's quite like waiting for the SP1 in a windows OS but faster.
BTW the Beta has been quite nice for me, but for a minor solved problem with old ATI boards.
