IOW, the toolbar provides not a quicker way to invoke a function
available via the menu, but in fact a different function. I find that
worse than useless. It may also be buggy. But IAC it has no place in
my work environment - let alone insisting on intruding into my work
unbidden. How can I keep these intrusive toolbars from popping up?
I *think* that this can be accomplished by dragging the toolbar, next
time it pops up, either up to the top of the OOo screen (where the other
tool bars reside by default) or to the left and it should automatically
"dock" into that area.
Thanks, but then [see original post] it is "installed in the permanent

Once you've finished working on the table and moved onto plain text,
the toolbar should disappear and when you return to working with
tables, it should reappear in the area you dragged it into.
Yes, but then [see original post] a worse-than-useless toolbar takes
time and screen space to intrude itself presumptuously into the work
environment. That offends both halves of my brain at the same time. ;-)
