Thanks, Andreas, but then it just comes back next time. When something
is worse than useless, it has no place in my work environment - let
alone coming without my request. I want a permanent fix.

You are right. I owe you, and Jonathon and Barbara who also took time to
reply, and anyone else who took time to read that error. When I wrote
the original post, I was /sure/ I had killed it via the menu
{View:Toolbars:Table}, only to have it return... but now that is not
happening, so I must have been wrong. Humble apologies; I'm sorry to
waste your time.
