The devs in question made it quite clear that there was absolutely NO need for a way to manage these associations since it was possible to 'fix' them by performing a total reinstall (ridiculous waste of time/resources just to fix the file associations), since you could choose them via the GUI installer. Then, those same devs removed the option to select them from the GUI installer, and ridiculed me for suggesting that wasn't a good thing to do, saying that I could simply right-click > open with blah blah to 'fix' them, which doesn't work for templates.
