Not that I'm recommending MS Outlook -- but I used it for many years on
my job, and never lost anything. I've used Thunderbird at home for a few
years, and on two occasions, lost a significant number of e-mail
messages. So I'm not sure that losing lots of e-mail is unique to Outlook.
