Since your running windows I think your security issues go far beyond installing OpenOffice. If you are referring to the issues that were corrected by the release of 2.4 then you should also take notice of the 'there are no exploits in the wild' statement. I admit that if you were using xforms, quattro pro files, and EMF files alot, then it would be a bigger issue... But IMHO there is nothing to worry about.
