I know. I just think you should decide for yourself what plugins to load, rather than trust a third party. YMMV of course. (Also, if the OpenProtect site gets hacked, allowing an automatic update to load plugins could get ugly.)
So, while I do use OpenProtect's channel, I don't specify the --allowplugins when updating.
