I agree with Wade on this one; I would like to see opinion/feelings posts moved to another list.

I know that this has been suggested a million times before... and that many feelings for and against have been offered... and that some work has even been made toward such a thing (the "free" mailing list that is currently inactive), but...

I would like to suggest it again, as I feel that there are many that share my same opinion.

I am tired of hearing banters, even in humor, back and forth about which distro and which editor is better. There is nothing wrong, and it is actually beneficial, to share your opinion and experience, but simply stating... "this is better... no this is better... no this is better... no this is better..." is a waste of everyone's time. Why can't someone post to the group that is a newbie ask for people's opinion about which distro to try without starting a hundred-email, four-day thread about "no... this distro is better?"

I would like to suggest that we have two lists...

#1 FEELINGS
This list would be about feelings... how I FEEL about something.... a list that is social place... where people can talk about the weather, how their day went, and how they FEEL about things.

#2 TECHNICAL, WORK, HOW-TO, GETTING THINGS DONE
Then, a second list would be about getting work done... how do i install this... what does this error mean... how do i get this to work... why does this happen... what distro should I start with? This second list first would be moderated... and when anything get's to be beyond a recommendation... when it gets to the point where it is "off-topic..." where the topic has changed from what the original post was about... and is not into the area of just conversation between a few people... it can be restricted and moved to the other list.

I personally am not a member of the group for the social aspect. I am here to help people with problems, to share and gain knowledge, to keep current on technology, and to interact with follow computer people. I am tired of lengthy threads about if "this is or isn't a flame ware day... and how I am going to post anyway because it's funny... yeah... it's funny."

I understand that there are others that are members of the club that ARE here for the social aspect though... so can we have two lists? Moderated?
