I didn't miss the USE flags.  I found them hard to use.  What I really 
wanted (and I incorporated into my package manager) was being asked 
what "features" I want in my packages.  That's what I like about Open 
Source.  I want to be in control.  And, if I don't like the available 
offerings, I am free to do my own.  Besides, I benchmarked my system 
against Gentoo and I came out ahead. :-)
