I'm glad to see Todd up in action, I've had good impressions about him ever since he did that impression of whatever-it-was at the meeting. But uh, can I be the assistant vice-master of the universe? Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top? I mean, c'mon, I only lost by one vote.
Anyway: UUG-newbie list: If we were 100 active members strong, that would make sense. Being that I'm guestimating that we're around 30 that doesn't make much sense to me. Booth: I'd love to sit at a booth and tell people about linux, pass out free CDs (IMHO, Ubuntu has the most professional and easy-to-hand-out live/install/wubi-install cd. Topic Ideas: Can we get something up on the website like a check-as-many-as-you-like-and-even-add-ideas poll? Somethings that interest me: Flex - the Adobe RIA builder Ruby on Rails Python Various gtk-bindings (Python, PHP, C++, whatever) Windows / Linux integration - samba, mounting drives, server authentication, etc I don't have anything particularly special to boast of and I'm not a guru and any particulary thing, but to give the group an idea of things that I know about: CompTIA A+, Network+, and Linux+ certified Thin-clients - LTSP / netbooting Cloning / Imaging / Slipstreaming - g4u g4l udpcast PHP / MySQL Java Data recovery Ubuntu Windows XP Gentoo OS X / OpenFirmware ~AJ ONeal On Sat, Jun 7, 2008 at 11:58 AM, Todd Millecam <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Sat, 2008-06-07 at 10:53 -0600, David Darrough wrote: > > > Oh, and one other thing...I can't believe Topher won...I voted for the > other > > guy! ;) > > Oh, yeah, Dev Nullin--shame > > -------------------- > BYU Unix Users Group > http://uug.byu.edu/ > > The opinions expressed in this message are the responsibility of their > author.
