I agree that would make sense, in fact, when we read that we said exactly that... what purpose would be served in letting us keep the software but not letting us update it. However, Microsoft is a company, and I don't trust them to always make sense. Further, the agreement as quoted by Andrew is for specifically Windows 7, and if that is what they meant, then that wording makes NO sense, because although I would like to assume it means what you think it means, unfortunately if you are right then their English "do no think it means what you think it means....."
