That is incorrect regarding updates. It is a full copy of Windows or any of the other software on MSDNAA and you can continue to legally receive updates like any other retail customer. It is an excellent deal and definitely worth picking up.

Andrew M. and David D.... the licenses do not expire when we are no longer a student, but according to the web page I downloaded it from, when we are no longer a student, we supposedly no longer get updates, which (in my opinion) is almost the same thing as expiring, because I wouldn't want a non-updated copy of windows... On the other hand, if it is just for a VM, and if you plan on being a student for more than a few months, the offer is still worth it.
