First question: Because it's the complete package. The Apple-style trackpad is designed for use with the Apple-style operating system. Developers who write software for Macs know that you'll have that trackpad and they write their softs with that in mind. You don't have to put any mind to it at all, though you can if you so desire.
Second question: Because I love seeing folks like you rage. Normal people can handle it, abnormal people get pissed off and ask me to turn it off.
