I don't know how to get it out with our opening it, some one else may be
able help you.  I think that your CRT is broken at the connection, the same
thing happened to me. I was making noises, I opened it and realized when I
disconnected it that the very tip was broken.

They are very delicate, mine must have broken during shipping. Similar
story, I got it for $1 + shipping on Ebay it was not in good shape but I
needed the CRT for my SE30 that I broke while pulling a cable
