There is a noise, sort of a harsh clacking sound, just one brief one maybe half a dozen clacks sometimes repeated but then nothing. I'm using a PC monitor with a device that plugs into the comp and also takes the lead from the monitor with a dozen dip switches on it. I got that straightened out a few months ago and it worked OK for a while.

It should sound something like: dut dut dut dut duuuuuuhhhh dirrrrrrr dut Basically, it's 4-5 litle noises, two longer noises, then a short one again.
