Hi Kristeen, You can download a user manual for the Q2 in PDF format from the BlueAnt web page: http://www.myblueant.com/products/headsets/q2/support.php I know that Amy Ruell and Brett, among others, have owned and liked the Q2, so maybe one of them can give you some pointers. I've used the Q1 a couple of years ago, which I got for someone else, but don't have current knowledge.
If you've charged the headset, try to feel for an on/off switch just below the charging port. You'll be moving from the port at the end of the headset towards the place where the ear insert is located. Once the switch is turned on, put the headset on, and press the button on the flat side of the headset, opposite the ear insert, and say "Pair Me" to pair your headset. You should also be able to say "Teach Me", or "What can I say?" to get instructed in the commands. If you don't hear a sort of burble and power up sound when you press the multi-use button, try taking out the headset and moving the power switch to the other position, then insert the headset and try again. There's a stabilizer ear loop that comes with the BlueAnt headsets that fits perpendicularly through a small hole in the post that joins the ear insert to the headset. It doesn't so much support the headset -- which you can probably wear without the loop -- as ensure that the microphone end of the headset stays positioned towards your mouth for optimum pick up of your speech. Don't worry about this until you get the headset working. If you feel along the top edge of the headset, there's a long and a short button above the ear insert section. (They're actually rectangular tabs.) The long button is volume up and the short one is volume down. I think you'll probably need someone who actually owns this headset to give you more instructions.
