I switch back and forth from 8-dot braille to 6-dot contracted. I am so happy now that you can adjust these separately for input and output, as I was constantly doing a G-chord by mistake when typing a message, typing in grade 2 braille before realizing I was not in that mode, and having to backtrack and delete and retype. I always switch to 8-dot input when inputting an e-mail address, Web address, or username and password. I find it works a lot better honestly.
