Holy cow! I just tried it, and you're right! Awesome! I hope I can still do 
something like this in iOS 10 when the new interface comes out. Call me weird, 
but I like having to go into the thread to read email, then back out of it to 
go to the next thread. I'm the type of person (when I actually ever use the 
computer for email these days) opens the message/thread in a new tab to read 
it. That way I can keep my place in the inbox or folder that I'm in, then just 
reply to the message in that new tab, then close the tab and go on my way with 
the next, email.
