Oh yes, I should have clarified.?? The web site is a bit more organized than the Prime Video app.?? Too much swiping in the app for my liking.

Do you mean the app or website? This being the ViPhone list, I was referring to

I don't really watch enough TV or movies to be aware of the restriction on
audiodescribed flicks and the requirement on to having to rent or purchase in
order to have access to the described track. If that's broadly true, then that
would suck.
I mainly consume the original stuff on Amazon whereas I'll more often than not,
look up the commercial stuff on Netflix. No particular reason, but for the fact
that Netflix was first to the game in offering audiodescription and it's just
easier to find the audiodescribed category there with the app on my iPhone.
Hulu's finally supposed to be rolling out iOS support for audiodescription
instead of just via the web browser too. So we'll see how that goes.

The ACB Page is updated more regularly, but if you go to Amazon, choose the
Prime video category and type in Descriptive Audio it will bring up a complete
listing of offerings that supposedly have audio description.

Odd. There appears to be a boatload of audio described on Amazon. All their
original stuff and they're always adding commercial releases. You being in
Canada, perhaps it's more a function of licensing/copyright issues?
I wish they get around to better sorting their stuff though. Right now, you
more or less have to hunt for stuff or know ahead what title will have
audiodescription instead of there simply being a category for audio described
content.
According to this page that lists Prime shows with audiodescription, they are
nearing 1000 titles with audiodescription.

I think Amazon needs to up their game with respect to descriptive video. Here
in Canada I have never come across a single one which has audio descriptions.
At least I just read that at least I can finally add Apple Music so that I can
now play music via my Echo speakers from my Apple Music subscription.

Its probably a question of what is Amazon doing wrong.
I assume Audio Description is turned on in your phone settings.

If so, when you start a movie that is supposed to have the description track
and it doesn't play, pause the movie and see if there are any buttons that
would give you a choice of audio tracks.
Some times, for some reason, you have to make sure the English with description
is on in the movie, at least with some platforms.
I do not have Prime, so I cannot be sure.

You may also want to call Amazon accessibility customer service.

Subject: Hearing Descriptive Tracks in Amazon Prime App

Hi, all.

I'm using an iPhone SE with iOS 12.4.?? I don't want to update at this time, so
I'm hoping my issue won't be one that needs an update to solve it.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the app for Amazon Prime Video to
consistently play the audio described track.?? I've verified that the movies in
question have the DVS track, but I cannot seem to get it to play.

This is frustrating, because I played a movie yesterday that had DVS and I just
double-tapped the Play Now button in the Prime Video App and the movie,
including description started playing with no additional input from me.

These are movies included with my Prime subscription and not ones I need to
rent from Amazon, if that makes a difference.

What am I doing wrong?

HTH
