Does this deactivate VO? I have understood that it does, requiring sighted help 
to reactivate, but perhaps I'm wrong. Appreciate any clarification.

A proper reset involving the sleep button is to press and hold both 
sleep and home button for about 10 or 12 seconds and then release both.
