Hi Terri, I'm not sure what you mean by columns but I don't think of iPads being in column formats
As for an iPad, Yeah sure if you want to have another device that you may not really need. Have you thought about just using your phone to do what you need to? You can get some nice little portable keyboards for the iPhone which might be helpful to you.
