Hi, I think you are confusing downloading and reading what's already there. With the BARD app you can read what is already downloaded just as if you had copied the books onto an SD card and used a BookSense or Victor Stream. Now, due to the shut down, getting new material is what is prevented. Apples and Oranges here. This is because when the books are downloaded to the BARD app, they are living in your device, not in the cloud. You are listening to content already present, not being streamed. I hope that helps.
