Hi guys. I haven’t been following this thread completely, but here’s what I’ve found with deleting / moving apps.
When I deleted two apps successfully after just installing the update yesterday, I found that the Iphone won’t enter app edit mode if you double tap and hold on an icon above the doc. However, if I did the same double tap and hold on another icon on the screen, I went into edit mode as usual. From there, I could delete the app I needed that was above the doc and move / delete as usual—so this is a ffairly minor annoyance, but the workaround is really straightforward. HTH, Chris. Yes, I followed every step outlined below, and I have this problem on my 5C. I also have no problems on my 5S moving apps out of the bottom row or into the bottom row. I wonder if some of you who installed iOS 8 on a 4S or for that matter on any iDevice follow a few simple pre-install steps: 1. If you use iTunes, connect your phone, transfer purchases, sync and backup. 2. Now remove all apps from the app switcher 3. Go to Settings, General, Reset and double tap “Reset Network Settings”. This will reset your network setting to the factory default and reboot your phone. You will have to connect to your WiFi again and enter your password after the phone reboots. 4. Now do your update to iOS 8. This is a serious problem. I wonder if it is only a 4S problem or is it in all other versions of the iPhone! The holding on the second tap to remove apps and folders no longer works. This is a very serious bug that disabled a very crucial function. Now, if you install apps, you can’t remove them. I am not sure if this is a problem specific to iOS8 on the 4S, a problem specific to my own device in a strike of bad luck, or a worldwide problem on all versions of the iPhones with iOS8. Can you please confirm this problem or tell me how to go around it if it is particular to my device? Warm Regards, Cris -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list.
