for example:
-door
You write a small Java program that logs into VNet server and points its
"Avatar" to an door VRML geometry that is a door with behaviours for opening and
closing.
Then when the door is clicked or a proximity sensor sends the click, the Java program
sends back open/close behaviour request.
This should result in a door that opens and closes @ the same time for connected users.
I think that this is possible with VNet today, or am I wrong?
-tour bus
You write a program, log into a VNet server and point the programs geometry to a "Bus"
geometry.
Then you have the program drive around in the scene and make stops in "Bus" stops to
pick up
VNet users and their Avatars.
You would have to change the VNet client and possible the VNet server for doing this.
But all the code
for having the VNet server taking control of the clients viewpoint is in there, now.
You could also consolidate information about the location x,y,z of the bus and all the
avatars aboard
by sending only global location changes for all aboard. This would need changes in the
VNet server
too.
-tivoli rides
Roller-costers, Paris wheels & ...
This would be approached with same tech/concepts as the tour bus.
-spring board
Well, this could also be solved with the tour bus tech, I think.
More later...
