Well, I was interested in doing a replication, but Ron Doesn't seem to actually want replications. I've lost interest in this at this point, so no need to worry about negative posts. However, I would point out that any earnest effort to analyze this, e.g. Bill Beaty's experiment and analysis, *is* a positive contribution.

It may be worth pointing out that, as far as one can tell from the posts, the ONLY person on this list to have replicated the effect -- even approximately -- is Bill Beaty.

He used a coil to light an LED with one floating leg, which is at the heart of Ron Stiffler's videos.

This provides an excellent starting point for determining the differences -- and similarities -- between Bill's Tesla-coil based circuit and Ron Stiffler's circuit.

If Ron -- or Jones -- is not interested in investigating possible "mundane" explanations for the (undeniably _real_) results which Ron has obtained then I cannot understand his position. Surely understanding what makes things work is what science is all about, and an attempt at fitting apparently new phenomena into the framework of known effects must play a big part in that; else we are in the position of doing everything by rote, treating every new and slightly different situation as utterly alien, never attempting to extrapolate from our existing knowledge to understand new things.
