Makes you wonder why we still use buggy, unstable MUI, doesn't it?

Oh, I think they plan to upgrade Uffe.

Lets see, new OS(es) and hardware have been promised for years now
but we have not seen anything but vaporware from a succession of
owners of the Amiga patents.

Most people are struggling along with what they have and hoping for
some significant improvements to rescue our beloved computer.

Which improvement? BEOS? PPC? WarpUP? (insert your own vaporware here)

Those same people ARE Definitely going to upgrade if people keep
telling them to upgrade because all their problems with software are
due to Their inadequate hardware. (Been hanging around with Bill
Gates too long? ;) )

But you see, Uffe, they are NOT going to upgrade the Amiga. For the
same money, abuse and fiscal irresponsibility, they can get a modern
IBuM compat and have the latest Windoze proggys. Together with a
computer that virtually requires you to replace it every five years
with no option of merely upgrading.

If we keep telling long suffering Amigans they must upgrade, since the
problem is with Them rather than with incomplete 'Beta' software.
Then you and a couple of other hardware junkies will be the last
owners of lots and lots of really Great Hardware.

You also might want to learn ALL aspects of programming for the Amiga.
Programming for the Amiga is a barely break-even proposition today.
Without the other users, when it's down to just the few hardware
junkie users, there will be no one left to program anything for it.

Sincerely,
Merlyn

PS. I will keep my hardware deficient Amiga going just as long as I
possibly can with whatever software that supports it, rather than
the other way around. At least until I see a new Amiga, but I'm
not sure any of us will live that long.

PPS. Remember, most of us bought our Miggys when the company Promised
backward compatibility and claimed to have hardware and OS
capabilities to ensure it. This is WHY many purchased the Amiga
in the first place. If that promise is broken, if the programmers
are incapable of or unwilling to continue that compatibility, then
the ranks of IBuM users will certainly increase for the Amiga
will be no different, merely a strange graphic OS lovingly
    remembered.
