V crashes for several different reasons. If you don't have a GFX card,
eventually fragmentation of Chip RAM will cause a crash. If you *do* have a
GFX card and it crashes, it's probably a different reason.
After I got my GFX card, V went from crashing several times a week to only
crashing occasionally. V3 is less stable (the worst thing is the MUI
problem), but it's only beta so I expect no less.
