We use CIDR equivalents format for netmasks (examples here on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classful_network). As those two /28s are contiguous, I'd change eth0 to to set interface ethernet eth0 address 111.1.1.30 prefix-length 27 which covers the same address range but only uses one of your allocated addresses. Personally, I always like having a name server configured - it can make diagnostics a bit easier.
