Hi all,
Someone has approached me with a proposal: I would optimize their
website, submit it to search engines, etc. and they would pay me
only if they got results. I am not sure if I am going to do this
yet or not, but I was wondering if anyone could point me to a
website of someone else who does this so I can get an idea of what
to charge. (I know that I am not allowed to ask that here.) Any
info would be much appreciated.

Sounds to me like they're looking for someone to work for free, and
what certainty would you have that they would pay...who's to judge
whether the results they get will be 'good enough' for them to pay
you anything? Regardless of what you actually charge in the end,which
of course we can't discuss, I would ask them for a nominal payment up
front even if its only a quarter of what you expect to get in the end.
