I don't have a strong preference myself, but since Pascal has taken the initiative to design a community web site (which is very nice, btw) and is offering to help run the CMS, I think he should be able to choose which one we use. So I'll leave this up to him.
Sure, but be reminded that Magnolia is a huge step backwards: "JSP templating" and the like. Who is going to take charge of the design the day that Pascal is busy? Volunteers?
Somehow, going with Magnolia reminds the time when Microsoft was using unix for hosting HotMail. Only, it's much worse this time: at the end any unix is better than any windows. But in our case it would be the opposite. Pier running on top of Seaside is at least a step forward in some respects.
Ok, here is an example of what is possible with Pier/Seaside: http:// scriptaculous.seasidehosting.st/
(hint: play with the counter at the bottom and with your browser back button trying to confound the WebApp. Impossible: this counter thing is a real App, no matter it is being served via Web).
