Michele - no harm in dreaming responses below: JR > > A page which lists all of the available repositories exists and we > link to it from the front page 'Contribute a Package' page in the > left-navigation menu. Show me the preferred > alternate repos, rerun the search against those repos, Its an intriguing idea to go and run the search against repos on the web without actually adding the repo to the client first. We had been planning to add the ability to bind a specific mime type for say an info file (containing authority, origin-url, fmri) that someone could post to the web and by clicking on it launch PM to handle it, see if the repo was already set, if not add it and then install the package. There is also the notion of having a launch page in the client that could point you at online resources, such as the above web page. Would be nice if you could do a consolidate web based search against these repos with the web search interface and if you get any hits just click on them to kick off PM to do the appropriate set authority and install (would need the web client to generate an info file to allow the mime type binding to make this happen).
