I would like to review the new mapping at the OGB meeting tomorrow.
It doesn't have to be fancy, just a list of governance role(s) and access
right categories. I want to make sure we know where we are going and are
on the same page.
The roles were exactly as described in the the new constitution.
And for the bits not described in the new constitution? When we wrote the
new constitution we defined roles like who got to vote in OGB elections, but
not who could edit which pages on the website, since those were decisions to
be left to each community group and project, not something we wanted to or
needed to codify in a static, global, difficult-to-change constitution.
For this reason, I would like the "rights" verbiage and web page example
removed from the Contributor Role in the new constitution, since it
limits how things are implemented. We may choose to map roles to website
rights categories but website rights shouldn't have to map to constitutional
roles. We need more latitude as we are finding.

"o A Contributor: Anyone explicitly recognized by the Leaders of a Group as
having substantially helped with the goals of a that Group. [A Contributor may
be given additional rights and responsibilities, for example, to edit web pages,
commit code to source repositories, help moderate associated mailing lists, etc]
."
That's the only place that web site is mentioned.
Cheers,
Jim
