Perhaps I misunderstood something... Is planet.opensolaris.org
not part of the new XWiki website which would make it
difficult to update?
I was proposing a once a quarter update of the blogroll (which
I think can be done by the advocacy community). That way
the task could be shared by a handful of folks and not
dumped on one poor soul.
My concern is that no one person on opensolaris.org can
know all the active bloggers... hence the suggestion for
relying on the community facilitators and osug leaders.
Many communities are under represented in the current
planet.opensolaris.org by virtue of not having their top
bloggers listed.
planet.opensolaris.org is also heavily Sun populated...
would love to recognize the folks in the community
who are advocating on the behalf of opensolaris.org.

Thanks Jim,
I did a little analysis on the blogs on planet.opensolaris.org
and I'd like to suggest a new approach to managing the
blogs that get posted to planet.opensolaris.org...
hi ..
In general, I like the concept Glynn has going for planet and I would
like to see that continue. However, he said in previous mail he has
fallen behind recently and offered to hand off managing the site. I
offered to do it, but considering I screwed up the buttons that`s
probably not the best idea I had lately. The idea you outline is
similar to the old tonic blog aggregator, which took feeds from anyone
who wanted to be there (I did a lot of pinging of lists early on to
collect feeds). Your idea is good but I think you`d have to create and
manage a new subsite to implement your system because it would require
a fair amount of active management that we didn`t have on the previous
tonic site.
Jim
